A global shutter sensor: the whole frame is exposed at once, so no mode skews. The lower resolutions are windows read pixel for pixel, which is how they reach the higher frame rates.
Drawn to the same scale on every camera page. Grey is the whole sensor, the coloured figures are the open mode.
Modes, full sensor to tightest crop

≈ marks an estimate. * marks an uncertain readout: nobody has measured that mode on this camera, so the figure is worked out from a measured mode by line count, from a camera on the same sensor, or from the frame rate it reaches. Top frame rate is the highest the camera offers in that mode, in its best codec and on its fastest media; other codecs often stop lower. A global shutter exposes every line at the same moment, so nothing leans on a pan and flashes do not band.
Frame rates from RED's published specifications, REDCODE RAW. Modes and frame rates change with firmware, so check the current manual before a job depends on one. Dynamic range for this camera is on Dynamic range by camera.
